Biology Comments
Hi Everyone, Let's use this page to write comments back and forth to one another. Please be sure to put your name on your comment. Please do *not* put your address or email on this site. It is a public site that anyone can look at. We'll handle that type of information through our Piedmont Homeschoolers Yahoo group or personal emails through the parents.
(Eg.Mrs. Smith would write this: "Mrs. Smith: Hi Marcus, just wondering if you read the first couple of pages today? Did you understand what Dr. Wile was talking about?"
Marcus would write this: Marcus: Yes, it was pretty clear to me.)

Mrs. Smith: I am hunting on the wiki site to see if I can find the chat room that we can insert onto our site. I'll keep looking!

Mrs. Smith: Please feel free to say "Hello!" here. Has anyone started on the reading yet?
Mrs. Phillips: Hello everyone. I am new and still trying to figure out this wiki. ( and bold won't click off either)
Marcus: Hey, yeah I was having that problem to.... You might be able to turn it off by changing the "Format" to normal (If it doesn't work, i don't know what i'm doing either :D) So, anybody find somthing interesting in your book?
I found it interesting that light is just pure energy.
Mrs. Smith: Wouldn't it be great if we could harness that energy and use it to drive our cars?
Mrs. Smith: Hi, Mrs. Phillips! Wikis are fun to work with. I've just learned how to use them myself this past summer. I liked the idea of having a class co-ordinate on the wiki; so, I started one up. Have you figured out the bold print thing yet? The Format square gives you choices of normal, heading 1, heading 2, etc. Each one successively gets bigger and bigger.
Mrs. Smith: I just found that Dr. Wile has a newer edition of Biology. I'm sure that we will be able to work together regardless of which edition you have. I've posted a picture of the original edition on the frontpage. Here is a pic of the newer edition.
Let us know which one you have. I'm interested to see what changes he's made.
Mrs. Phillips Well, I guess I did figure out the 'bold' thing....LOL this seems to look fine. How often will assignments be posted? Once a week?
Mrs. Smith: Yeah! You did great! I was hoping to post assignments once a week and give the kids a week to post their replies. So far, it seems that none of the kids have been online...or they haven't figured out the wiki yet.
Marcus would like to get together with anyone that wants to get together for the first two experiments (1.1 and 1.2) We could also go over how to use the wiki - if we met at my house or a library with internet access. Any takers?
Mrs. Phillips: Maybe folks are trying to get acclimated to the new school year. I know I am. Well, Dominique will post her answers for the questions from last week today. Now that I know when assignments are posted, I will be sure that she answers in a timely fashion.
