Tips for using a wiki.

Our Own Page on How to Use Your Wiki

See the new "Study Stack" link below.  It's in the Web Pages list.  It's a fun way to study!

Experiment pics are linked on the Activities page!

Students - We look forward to reading your answers here on the website!  Group study is so sweet!

Section 1:

Beginning:

  •   Hi Everyone!  We're looking forward to a fun year of biology.  We'll meet here by adding our comments and maybe having a question and answer session in our own personal Biology Chat room.  If you like, we can even post some photos of our experiments to see how they turn out.
  • If you find an error on this page, please fix it!  That's what a wiki is for.  If I've left out a word in a sentence, feel free to add it in for me.  If my link is wrong, you might want to let me know; so that, I can post the correct link.  This is our Biology page.  We'll all work on it and add to it.
  • If you find a really sweet website dealing with our subject, please add it under the website heading below.  When everyone signs up for this PBWiki and clicks the button..."notify me of any changes"...we'll all know when you've added something to the site.
  • Click on http://donnayoung.org/apologia/ecw/biology/biocoop05_sneely.pdf

This is the schedule we will be following.  (If the link doesn't work, please copy and paste into your

                browser.)

  • Begin following the day to day instructions for the class.  If some of us decide to get together for the labs, we'll hold off on doing the lab work until we are meet.  If you won't be able to join us for the labs, please go ahead and do them.
  • It's important that you learn the terminology in your Biology textbook.  To help you, donnayoung.org has some bookmarks with the definitions on them.  We print them out and put some clear contact paper over them and stick them in  the biology book as our bookmarks.  Here is the link for the Biology bookmarks: http://donnayoung.org/apologia/ecw/biology/voc/bm123.pdf
  • (FYI - I would make PBWiki links to the sites above; but for some reason, on the donnayoung site, it reverts itself to her main page.  That really isn't very helpful.  That's why I have given you the actual link here.)

Let's work on getting our Science Journal ready.  Dr. Wile thinks quite a lot of the science journal.  It will let colleges, parents, and friends know what you have done during your Biology Lab class.  Here is a sweet Science Journal that I found on the internet.  You can dress yours up if you like.  I like to add pictures or something to the outside of my notebook.  Then I cover it with clear contact paper.  The Office Supply stores now carry something similar to "Contact" paper that is actually much clearer, but regular clear Contact paper works well.

If you dress yours up, could you post a picture here?  I'd like to see them.
