Organizing Activities
Our first activity was on the front page of Relaxed Organizing. Have you picked something out to work on yet?
Our next activity will be to get little space to work with or trim down the amount we're working with. I like to get a glass of my favorite beverage and sip along as I play. (That's right -- we're going to play...not work.) You could turn on some of your favorite music to enjoy.
Open Space Activity

Let's just use 15 minutes; say you want to organize your CD collection. (These instructions can apply to any collection of items. Including furniture...) Go to your main collection area for your CDs. Where do you have them? Stacked on the floor, table, dresser?
1. Go through that set of CDs...are there any broken or scratched ones? (You might consider fixing furniture.
) Toss them! Good old File 13.

2. Any that you don't like? If you hate them, Toss them! If you just don't like them, put them in a stack to give to your friends, family, or thrift store. (Better yet, when finished with your 15 minutes...run them out to your car to give away the next time you see your friends.)
3. Do you have some that make you sad? I'm going to take an idea from Flylady.com here.... Why not get rid of it? Let's be relaxed and happy! I know some people like sad music, if that's the case with you, then keep them. (This is definitely something that applies to the "browse and find what you like in organizing" and keep it; if not, don't do it.)
Next time...we'll talk about all those CDs elsewhere in your house, car, van, work...
Can you guess what we might do next?
Our next activity: Corral Your Stuff
I'm keeping this for the table form. It has nothing to do with the class.

Where do I put my C.D.s? Should I keep them all together? Should I buy a C.C. rack? Do those C.D. folders work well? What is a woman to do when her life is overrun with music C.D., picture C.D., computer C.D.s and then NOW there are D.V.Ds!! (..because my life wasn't complicated enough;) )

Well, I don't keep all those types of CDs in the same place. I keep them near where I use them. Music CDs in one location, picture CDs in with my computer CDs (in the 3-ring-binder case), and the lovely DVDs under my TV set. I'll try to bring this up in the "class" during the "Organizing Activities!"
